What is a Product As A Service?
Honestly, I/We consider this a gray area. But, not in a bad way. In the Miva world not every solution can be a self contained production level module
unless it is highly customized. Of course, that can be expensive.
A remedy for this can be a Product As A Service (PAAS) model or a module integration. This is where a module can be a helper in the customization
of a specific solution. Also, other scripting technologies like javascript/jquery might be used to frame a customized solution helping a module integration.
Available PAAS module integrated solutions:
- Electronic File Download or Softgoods
This is a script you send filenames to for customers to download files from a protected folders
- Multiship AddressBook
Give your customer account holders a way to ship to different addresses
- Inventory Variant Waitlist or Waitlist for Attributes
A WaitList solution for those using Inventory Variants
- Abandon Basket Remarketing for Customers with accounts
2 Problems solved with this. Most important, you can lower your basket timeout. Then, saves the customers basket so they can retrieve the contents later in a link provided via email notification.
Toolkit is required and works with customers that have accounts in your store.
Ask me about these at MivaCon! I will be there Wednesday through Friday.
PAAS module integrated solutions on the back burner:
- Inventory Level Validation at the Page Level
- IDS Mobile for Miva
- QuickView Product Popup Display
- Add to Basket by Listing
